Spurs transfer news: Tottenham will submit bid for St Etienne’s William Saliba
RMC Sport (h/t Daily Star) claims that Tottenham have contacted Saint-Etienne regarding their interest in William Saliba.
The 18-year-old centre-back is expected to return to France on loan should he made a move in the summer, and the report adds that Spurs have made a last-minute approach to beat a rival.
Saliba was linked with Arsenal recently, according to the report, however, Tottenham will bid for the centre-back in the coming days.
Spurs are already in contact with the player and his representatives, while the Gunners are yet to finalise a transfer fee for the 18-year-old (h/t Daily Star).
Saliba won’t come on the cheap
The report claims that the 18-year-old is valued at £20m, and Spurs are in a better financial position than their London rivals.
Saliba would be a player for the future and Spurs need to think about replacing Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld in the coming seasons.
We have Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth currently providing cover for the pair.
Sanchez has been impressive since his move from Ajax and is already a first-teamer while Foyth still is a little raw.
