Spurs transfer news: Daniel Levy calls Real Madrid to offer Christian Eriksen

Marca (h/t Express) claims Daniel Levy called Real Madrid and offered them the opportunity to sign Christian Eriksen.

The Dane is one of the best in the Premier League but claimed he was ready for a new challenge elsewhere (h/t Express).

The 27-year-old even claimed Real Madrid was a step up but admitted that both clubs had to discuss the deal (h/t Express):

“Real Madrid? It’s a step up. But it requires Real Madrid to call Tottenham and say they want Christian. And they have not done so yet, as far as I know.”

The report claims that Levy knows Eriksen could leave for free at the end of next season, should he fail to sell the Dane this summer.

Tottenham are willing to accept £62million for Eriksen, however, the report claims that Real are yet to agree on the deal.

The report adds that Real are interested in other midfielders too, such as Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek.

Real have been busy in the summer, having already signed Eden Hazard and Eder Militao.

Tottenham looking at attacking midfielders

Losing Eriksen would be a blow to Spurs but keeping him for another season and letting him leave for free isn’t the best outcome.

We have been linked with Giovani Lo Celso of Real Betis (h/t Sun) and Real’s Dani Ceballos (h/t Sun).

The pair are away on international duty, and it will be interesting to see who we can land to replace the Dane, should he leave.
