Spurs transfer news: Tottenham close to landing Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele
Football.london reports that Tottenham are close to signing Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele for a club record transfer fee.
The 22-year-old was excellent for the Ligue 1 side last season, and the report claims that Spurs have been tracking the midfielder for over two years.
The report adds that Ndombele is the top priority for Mauricio Pochettino, but Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had suggested he could get a huge amount if he waited for a few days.
The Frenchman added that a deal wasn’t complete for Ndombele, however, Football.london claims that the deal is in the final stages and Ndombele could be revealed as a Spurs player next week.
Tottenham sold Mousa Dembele in the winter window, and Ndombele would be the perfect replacement for the Belgian.
Serie A champions Juventus are still interested in the 22-year-old midfield powerhouse (h/t Football.london).
Spurs to spend big on Ndombele
The report adds that the initial deal is worth £62m with add-ons taking up to £75m.
Ndombele also visited the club’s training facilities recently and met with club officials after being permitted by the Ligue 1 giants (h/t Football.london).
Lyon have been busy and are trying to sign Thiago Mendes from Lille, and the report claims that Ndombele wants a move to Tottenham.
