Latest Spurs news: Tottenham stadium turned into NFL ground for try-outs
The new Tottenham stadium turned into an NFL ground as 150 young Londoners had try-outs for a place in the NFL Academy.
The ground featured several NFL logos and goalposts too as participants (aged 16-18) went through several drills in front of NFL talent and former Tottenham captain, Ledley King (h/t Tottenhamhotspur.com).
The release from the club adds that several NFL games will be held at the new ground as we have a deal with the American football body for 10 years.
The Chicago Bears face the Oakland Raiders in the first game at our new home on 6th October. The next game is the Carolina Panthers taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on 13th October.
Both games are a part of the NFL London Series and the academy is set to open in September with 80 students, according to the release.
The academy will provide full-time education to the students while they learn life skills and receive training in the sport.
Major plans in place for the Tottenham stadium
The stadium features separate pitches for NFL games and football matches.
The release from the club adds that several concerts, cultural programmes and events will take place at the new ground, providing a boost to the local economy.
Tottenham’s stadium opening was delayed last season, but the multi-purpose ground is one of the best in the world.

We have already seen some fantastic games at the new stadium, and hopefully, silverware is not far off under Mauricio Pochettino.
