Spurs transfer news: Tottenham put Lo Celso negotiations on hold due to the price
Sky Sports claims that Tottenham have put the negotiations for Giovani Lo Celso on hold as the clubs have been unable to finalise a fee.
The 23-year-old was a part of the Argentine side that played in the Copa America, and they lost 2-0 to Brazil in the semi-finals.
Lo Celso had a great debut season with Real Betis, and the report claims that the Argentine wants to work under Mauricio Pochettino.
The 23-year-old has an £88m release clause in his contract, but the report claims that Betis will accept a bid close to £70m for the Argentina international.
This would be a bit of a blow if we cannot agree on a fee for the Argentine. Lo Celso would be a quality addition to the team, and the report claims that we could move for him again should we sell Christian Eriksen.
The Dane has just 12 months left on his current contract and recently spoke about taking up a new challenge.
Spurs have been busy in the summer
This would have been the third deal of the summer for Spurs after signing Jack Clarke from Leeds United and Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.

We even broke our transfer record (h/t BBC) to catch hold of the 22-year-old Frenchman and we’ll have to wait to see who else we sign this summer.
