Spurs transfer news: Ossie Ardiles wants Tottenham to let go of Christian Eriksen

Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles has had his say on Christian Eriksen’s future.

The Dane claimed he was ready for a new challenge after Tottenham’s loss in the Champions League final.

The 27-year-old is out of a contract at the end of the season and is one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League.

However, Ardiles claims the Dane already has his mind set on a move away, and it doesn’t make sense for Tottenham to try and keep him. Speaking to talkSport, the Argentine said (h/t Football.london):

“It looks to me like he has put his mind on a move – that he wants to go somewhere else.

“And if that is the case it’s futile for the club to try and keep a player when he wants to leave.”

The Argentine added that Eriksen could be happy at Tottenham, but the player’s mind is somewhere else:

“I won’t say he’s not happy with us, because he is, but his mind is trying to play somewhere else, and the best thing is to part company.”

Eriksen linked with La Liga giants

The Dane has been linked with a move to Real Madrid (h/t Sun), and it is to be seen how much the La Liga giants are willing to spend on the 27-year-old.

Spurs have been busy in the transfer window, landing Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele.
