Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in three midfielders but move depends on star leaving
The Mirror claims that Tottenham
Spurs have signed Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele in the summer nearly 18 months after Lucas Moura joined the club from Paris Saint-Germain.
The report adds that Spurs are eyeing Nicolo Zaniolo, Giovani Lo Celso and Dani Ceballos, but signing any of them could depend on Danish star Christian Eriksen leaving.
Spurs have already bid for Lo Celso, and are considering making an improved offer for the 23-year-old Real Betis star. Ceballos also interests Spurs, and the Real Madrid midfielder is searching for first-team football.
AS Roma’s Zaniolo is another star that Tottenham want, and the Italians could be tempted into selling the Italian in a swap deal for Toby Alderweireld (h/t Mirror).
The report adds that a big move from Spurs can only take place should they sell Eriksen. The Dane had suggested that he is ready for a new challenge, and Spurs value the 27-year-old at £70m (h/t Mirror).
The creative star has just one year left on his current deal, and the report claims that Spurs might not move for a midfielder if Eriksen is not sold.
The three midfielders have potential to be special
The three midfielders linked with Spurs are all below 24 and have the potential to be special under Mauricio Pochettino.
Lo Celso had an excellent season for Betis while Ceballos helped the U21 Spain side win the Euros.
