Spurs transfer news: Dani Ceballos set to join Tottenham on loan
AS (h/t Daily Mail) reports that Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos is expected to join Tottenham.
The report claims that AC Milan
Milan wanted to sign the Spanish U21 star, however, they were unwilling to meet Madrid’s asking price of £45million (h/t Daily Mail).
The report adds that Ceballos held talks with Mauricio Pochettino previously, and the Argentine wants the Spaniard to play a huge role next season.
The deal for the 22-year-old is expected to be a one-year loan deal, and the report claims that a swap with Christian Eriksen could be in the offering later on.
The Danish star recently claimed that he wants a new challenge after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool.
The 22-year-old Spaniard would be a quality signing but he isn’t on the same level as Eriksen.
Getting him on a one-year loan isn’t a bad option, but there has to be a clause that makes the deal permanent too.
The Real Madrid star struggled for starts last season, and he should play a lot more if he signs for Pochettino.
Tottenham need a creative midfielder in the side
Spurs might have signed Tanguy Ndombele for a huge fee, however, we need a quality attacking midfielder in the side too.

Ceballos is capable of playing that role while he can also play out wide, which would allow Pochettino more avenues to deploy the 22-year-old.
