Spurs transfer news: Journalist shares Maurizio Sarri’s interest in Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier
Football.london reports that Napoli and Juventus are interested in Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier.
The Englishman struggled for form in the previous campaign, despite a wonderful World Cup, and the report claims that Juventus are leading the race for the right-back.
Italian journalist Aurelio Capaldi also shared his views on the possible transfer and highlighted Maurizio Sarri’s interest in Trippier.
The former Chelsea manager replaced Max Allegri at the Old Lady, and Capaldi claims that Trippier caught Sarri’s eye during his time in the Premier League (h/t Football.london):
“Sarri began to appreciate him in the Premier League, so Trippier is an option.
“He’s very happy if the club manages to sign him.
“Sarri believes Juventus really needs offensive people on the sides and wants to make things happen.”
The journalist added that Juventus believe they can get €60m for Joao Cancelo, and the club is willing to let go of the right-back (h/t Football.london).
The report adds that Trippier confirmed he would sit down with Mauricio Pochettino after the Champions League final loss and discuss his future at the club.
Spurs have Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters as the other senior right-backs, and it will be interesting to see what happens with the England star.
Aurier’s campaign was hit by several injuries while Walker-Peters didn’t have many chances to impress.
Tottenham have signed one big name in the summer
Spurs haven’t spent much in the last campaign but signed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon this summer.
Jack Clarke was the first capture of the season, but the Englishman has been sent back on loan to Leeds.
