Latest Spurs news: Ben Davies in negotiations over long-term deal at Tottenham
The Telegraph reports that Tottenham are in advanced talks with Ben Davies over a new long-term deal.
The 26-year-old played 34 games for us in all competitions last season, but could not record a single assist for Spurs.
The Welsh left-back also played some games as a centre-back, but it was Danny Rose who was preferred for the bigger games in the second half of the previous campaign.
The Englishman even started in the Champions League final, however, the report claims that Spurs are trying to finalise a five-year deal with the Welsh defender.
Davies has a couple of years left on his current deal, and the report claims that the 26-year-old is expected to sign the new deal in the upcoming weeks.
The report adds that there is uncertainty regarding Rose’s future and the English defender could leave the club in the summer.
Rose leaving would reduce our options for the left-back position, and it will be interesting to see if we sign a replacement for the Englishman in the summer.
Spurs willing to offload several players
The Telegraph adds that Tottenham could listen to offers for a host of players including Kieran Trippier, Victor Wanyama, Serge Aurier, Vincent Janssen, Marcus Edwards and Josh Onomah.
Tottenham have been busy after making a couple of signings in the summer, with Tanguy Ndombele being the big name joining the club.
