Latest Spurs news: Several Tottenham stars return for first day of pre-season training
Tottenham’s pre-season training began today as several stars returned to Hotspur Way.
Many of our international stars are still away on breaks after their exploits with the national team.
However, Lucas Moura was back and seemed ready to go after a decent campaign last season.
The Brazilian scored some crucial goals for us in our Champions League journey, and it will be interesting to see how many he can score in the upcoming campaign.
Another South American who was seen was Erik Lamela. The Argentine struggled for fitness last season and needs to be available for the majority of the campaign.
Some English players make a return
Harry Kane and Dele Alli should return to training soon but we had the likes of Eric Dier, Kyle Walker-Peters, Kieran Trippier and Harry Winks returning to training.
Dier and Trippier didn’t have great seasons last time around, and a proper rest ahead of pre-season should have helped the pair.
Winks had his injury problems too and hopefully, the midfielder remains fit to partner new signing Tanguy Ndombele.
Walker-Peters struggled for playing time due to Trippier being the first-choice, however, the English youngster could get more games for Tottenham this season.
Ben Davies, who could sign a new long-term deal with us soon (h/t Telegraph), also returned to training.
The Welshman could not replace Danny Rose in the second half of the previous season but should provide great competition for the left-back spot.

The players were also sporting new training gear ahead of the new campaign, and the target for Spurs has to be to win a trophy.
