Spurs transfer news: Tottenham waiting on Sessegnon deal as they have to sell before buying
Sky Sports News claims that Tottenham are “staying patient” as they target Ryan Sessegnon.
The report adds that the Fulham teenager wants to join Mauricio Pochettino’s team, and Tottenham are leading the race to sign the Englishman.
Sessegnon didn’t have a great season with the Cottagers as they were relegated to the Championship last season.
The 19-year-old played games as a left-back and as a left winger, but could not keep his team in the Premier League.
The report adds that Fulham value Sessegnon at £40m, while Tottenham want to negotiate a lower fee for the teenager.
Tottenham completed the signings of Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke last week, however, the report claims that Spurs need to sell players before buying.
The report further claims that clubs are yet to enter direct talks regarding a deal for Sessegnon.
Some first-teamers up for sale at Tottenham
The report adds that Danny Rose is one of several players who could be sold in the summer. Sessegnon could be a direct replacement for Rose, and it will be interesting to see how Pochettino includes the English sensation in the team.
The 19-year-old’s best performances came from attacking positions, however, we could see him follow the Gareth Bale route too.
The Welshman played several games as a left-back before moving up the pitch and became one of the best in the world.
