Latest Spurs news: Tottenham fans react to Peter Crouch retiring from football

Former Tottenham and England striker Peter Crouch announced his retirement after spending the previous season with Burnley.

The English striker played for several clubs during a colourful career but started by signing his first professional contract with Tottenham.

He did not play any senior games after that deal and moved to Queens Park Rangers before moving to Portsmouth.

The forward made his Premier League bow with Aston Villa before joining Southampton and then moving to Liverpool.

The lanky forward spent three years with the Reds and then joined Portsmouth again. Tottenham was his next club as he scored some important goals for the club.

One that will stay in memory was the goal against Manchester City in the 2009-10 season which ensured Champions League football for us in the next campaign.

The Englishman was known for his robot celebration and even played for England at the World Cup.

Tottenham fans have fond memories of Crouch

The striker was never the fastest on the pitch or the strongest, but he used his height well and spent most of his years at Stoke.

The 38-year-old now has a pretty popular podcast and could not believe the career he had.

The Spurs Twitter account wished Crouchy a great retirement ahead, and many fans had great memories of the lanky striker.
