Spurs transfer news: Arsenal join race to sign Nicolo Zaniolo

Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Calciomercato) claims that Arsenal have entered the race to sign Nicolo Zaniolo.

The report adds that Tottenham are interested in the 20-year-old Italian while Juventus are also keeping tabs on the AS Roma star.

Zaniolo can play as an attacking midfielder or out wide, and was in action for Italy’s U21s during the recently held Euros.

The report claims that Zaniolo does not want to leave Roma at the moment, but is interested in a better contract.

A move away from Serie A, to England, could see him earn a huge package, according to the report.

Roma are not playing in the Champions League next season while Tottenham have already spent huge in signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Arsenal entering the race for Zaniolo is interesting given that they aren’t in the Champions League.

Zaniolo would be a smart signing for Spurs

The 20-year-old would be an excellent signing for Mauricio Pochettino. The Italian would flourish under the manager and could provide cover for several first-team stars.

Zaniolo could even push for a starting position should his development continue and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in the summer.
