Spurs transfer news: Real Madrid cannot guarantee Ceballos exit
Marca reports that Real Madrid cannot guarantee the exit of Spanish star Dani Ceballos.
The report adds that Ceballos’ future has been up in the air this summer, and the player was expected to leave as Real wanted a big name signing such as Christian Eriksen or Paul Pogba.
However, the Madrid giants have kept an eye on Ceballos during the U21 Euro championship, and believe that a season with the senior team will help him become a better player (h/t Marca).
Ceballos was one of the stars as Spain lifted the U21 Euro title, however, he didn’t start too many games under Zinedine Zidane last season.
The report adds that Pogba’s move to Madrid isn’t a surety, and Real would not be able to sign better players than the Spaniard, at a reasonable price.
Ceballos and Zidane have to work on their relationship, according to the report, and Tottenham have been linked with the 22-year-old during the summer.
AC Milan are also keen on the midfielder, and the report adds that the final decision on the player’s future will be taken once he returns from a break.
Interesting times ahead for Spurs and Ceballos
The Spaniard isn’t guaranteed of regular starts at Madrid, especially with the club spending big in the summer, and a move to another club could help him get more playing time.
Tottenham could do with someone like Ceballos, however, if we keep hold of Eriksen, there would be loads of competition for starting places.
