Latest Spurs news: Maurizio Pochettino signs new deal after impressing with U18s
The Daily Mail reports that Maurizio Pochettino has signed a new deal at Tottenham after impressing with the U18s.
The youngster moved with his father, Mauricio, when the senior Pochettino joined Tottenham from Southampton.
Maurizio was a part of Tottenham’s development squad and made 21 appearances in the U18 Premier League.
Mauricio made a name for himself as a central defender at Espanyol and Argentina, however, the younger Pochettino plays in the attack.
The 18-year-old prefers playing out wide
The youngster also featured in Tottenham’s first test event at the new stadium last season, and the report claims that he could feature in the EFL Trophy and play for the U23 side.
Sebastian Pochettino is also on the books of the club, but the older brother of Maurizio is a sports scientist at Tottenham.
Another star in the making?
Maurizio could be a decent player in the future and needs to keep working hard under his father.
The manager has a penchant for developing youngsters during his time in England, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the younger Pochettino.
