Spurs transfer news: Danny Rose offered himself to Barcelona
Spanish outlet Sport (h/t Football.london) claims that Danny Rose offered himself to Catalan giants Barcelona.
The English defender has been left behind by Tottenham and is not part of the pre-season tour of Asia.
Rose is trying to seal a move away to another club and the report claims that Barcelona did not go ahead with the deal as it did not make sense economically.
Barca need some cover and competition for Jordi Alba, and Rose could have been a decent option for the Catalans.
The 29-year-old was out first-choice left-back last season, but it seems he is surplus to requirements at Tottenham now.
Spurs still need to move for another left-back should Rose leave as we only have Ben Davies as the other senior player who can start in that position.
Tottenham have already sold a defender to a Spanish club
Rose could have been the second Spurs full-back to join a big Spanish club.
Kieran Trippier joined Atletico Madrid yesterday, and the Englishman had an inconsistent season for Spurs last time around.
It is interesting to note that Spurs have openly stated that Rose is trying to manufacture a deal away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Hopefully, the left-back finds the right club for himself soon, but he did have a decent season with Spurs last time.
