Spurs transfer news: Tottenham meet with Atletico Madrid over Eriksen’s sale
Spanish outlet AS (h/t Mirror) claims that Tottenham want €60-70million from Christian Eriksen’s sale as the Dane enters the final year of his contract.
The 27-year-old was signed from Ajax in 2013 and has become one of the best in the Premier League.
The Dane helped us reach the Champions League final last season, but wants a different challenge ahead of the new season.
Eriksen has travelled to Asia for the pre-season tour but the report claims that Atletico Madrid are set to bid for the Dane.
A Tottenham member also met with the CEO of Atletico, Miguel Angel Gill, to discuss a deal for Eriksen (h/t Mirror).
Atletico making moves in the window
The La Liga giants have been busy in this transfer window, having sold Antoine Griezmann and bought Joao Felix.
Kieran Trippier also joined them from Tottenham a few days ago, and the report adds that they could sell Angel Correa to Inter Milan.
They would need to reinforce their attack, with James Rodriguez and Eriksen being linked with moves to the Wanda Metropolitano (h/t Mirror).
Getting €60-70million from the Dane’s sale would not be a bad deal, especially if he is off to a foreign club.

Keeping him for another year runs the risk of him leaving for free while we need to avoid selling the Dane to a Premier League rival.
