Spurs transfer news: Pochettino cannot confirm if Tottenham have bid for Bale

Mauricio Pochettino does not know if Tottenham have bid for Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale.

The Welsh attacker seems set to leave the Madrid giants with Zinedine Zidane claiming a deal could be done in 24 hours (h/t Sun).

The French manager left Bale out of the pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich and added that it would be “best for everyone” if the Welsh winger left.

Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett also blasted at the France legend and claimed the Welshman would leave when it was right for him (h/t Sun):

“Zidane is a disgrace, he shows no respect for a player that has done so much for Real Madrid.

“If and when Gareth goes it will be because it is in the best interest of Gareth and nothing to do with Zidane pushing.”

The Welshman was a hit at Tottenham before leaving for Madrid.

Bale helped Real win the Champions League a couple of years ago, but has struggled for form and fitness over the past two years.

Pochettino was speaking after our 3-2 win over Spurs and remained coy on the possibility of Bale joining the club (h/t Sun):

“I saw the reports in the media but I don’t know which club is trying to sign him.

“I don’t have any information from my chairman. I don’t know if it’s us or another club. It’s the job of my chairman.”

Several clubs interested in Bale

The Welshman still has garnered a lot of interest in the summer with Manchester United, PSG and a Chinese club keen on him (h/t Sun).

Bale would be a decent addition to the team as we can use his experience. However, the problem could be with how much Real want for his sale.

Real have been busy in the summer buying several players and hopefully, we can get a deal out of them.
