Spurs transfer news: Tottenham bid £61m for Giovani Lo Celso
Tottenham have bid £61m for Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso, according to El Transistor (h/t Football.london).
The Argentine international has been linked with Spurs for a while and is coming off a great campaign with the La Liga side.
Lo Celso was also busy in the summer, playing in the Copa America, and has garnered attention from Bayern Munich too (h/t Football.london).
The report adds that the bid has been made after the interest from Bayern, and Spurs are trying to beat the Bavarians to Lo Celso’s signature.
Betis want to keep hold of Lo Celso
The 23-year-old would be an excellent signing for Tottenham, and the Argentine has the potential to develop further under Mauricio Pochettino.
Betis are close to landing Lyon’s Nabil Fekir, but the report claims that manager Rubi wants to keep hold of Lo Celso too.
The former PSG star joined Betis on loan at the start of the last season and was one of their best players.
The 23-year-old mostly plays as an attacking midfielder but can do a job out wide too. Tottenham signed Jack Clarke this summer but sent him back on loan to Leeds United.

We could do with more attacking threats in the team for the upcoming season, and it will be interesting to see if we can land the Argentine in the summer.
