Latest Spurs news: Hugo Lloris sent back to London to recover from tonsillitis
Tottenham confirmed that club captain Hugo Lloris returned to London on Monday from Singapore.
The goalkeeper did not feature in our 3-2 win over Juventus in the International Champions Cup tie at the Singapore National Stadium on Sunday.
The 32-year-old is suffering from tonsillitis and will not feature in the second game of our Asia tour which is against Manchester United on Thursday.
The release from Tottenham adds that Lloris should be training with the first-team after the clash against the Red Devils.
The 32-year-old is still one of the best in the world and he just needs to cut out on some of the errors in his game.
The Frenchman might have had some poor outings last season, but he was also exceptional in certain games and helped us win several points.
A quality pre-season could be great for the Frenchman, especially since last summer’s plans were hit by the World Cup.
Spurs have a quality No.2 in Paulo Gazzaniga but we could do with more cover.
Tottenham are a little light in experienced keepers
Michel Vorm was an excellent back-up in the team but the former Swansea star left in the summer as a free agent.
Spurs could push a youngster as the third-choice keeper for the next season, and it will be interesting to see if we move for a more experienced player in the summer.
