Spurs transfer news: Janssen leaves Tottenham for £10million
The Sun claims that Vincent Janssen has been sold by Tottenham for £10m as the Dutch striker completed his move to Monterrey.
This was another surprise move by Spurs after selling Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid earlier in the window.
Janssen struggled for fitness and starts last season, and managed just 36 Premier League minutes across three appearances.
The former AZ Alkmaar striker was even sent out on loan a couple of seasons ago, but could not stay fit at Fenerbahce.
Spurs recoup a decent amount for the striker
The Sun adds that Tottenham signed Janssen in 2016 for £17m and getting £10m for him is a great return, given his time in London.
The Dutchman struggled to score in the first season at Tottenham, but he always gave it his all on the pitch.
The 25-year-old was one of the best forwards in the Eredivisie before joining Tottenham and hopefully, he finds his scoring boots for the Mexican side.
This leaves Tottenham with no senior cover for Harry Kane as Fernando Llorente also left the team after his contract expired.
Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura can play the number 9 role but they do a better job out wide.

Spurs still need to make a few signings before the end of the transfer window and hopefully, we sign a back-up for the Englishman.
