Spurs transfer news: Wanyama plans to stay with Tottenham

Kenya star Victor Wanyama is not looking to leave Tottenham after being linked with Fenerbahce (h/t Sun).

The 28-year-old played 13 Premier League games for the club last season, with four starts to his name.

Wanyama was one of the stars who suffered several injuries last season, and Spurs have been busy, having signed Tanguy Ndombele.

The French midfielder should be a starter once the season starts and Wanyama sees himself being a part of the Tottenham side.

The Kenyan claimed he isn’t interested in the speculation of him leaving the club and confirmed that he hasn’t spoken to any team (h/t Sun):

“I will be back in training next week. I don’t want to dwell on speculation. I’m not going anywhere.

“I have not spoken to any other team because my aim is to remain here and help my team next season.

“I have a running contract with Spurs which I intend to honour.”

A quality season needed from Wanyama

Tottenham’s injury problems were laid bare last season, with most of our first-team stars missing games.

Victor Wanyama

Wanyama was one of the bigger problems and hopefully, he can remain fit for the majority of the next campaign.

The Kenyan is a quality member of the side when fit, and we need to keep our players healthy due to the strain the Champions League and domestic cup games add to the schedule.

Eric Dier and Harry Winks also missed parts of last season due to injuries, and they need to stay fit too.
