Latest Spurs news: Pochettino vows not to speak regarding transfers related to Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino was not in a mood to share details regarding Tottenham’s transfer plans after our Shanghai trip.
The Argentine was speaking after the 2-1 loss at the hands of Manchester United and was first asked about Danny Rose.
The Englishman was left behind to find a new club in the summer, and Pochettino claimed that the club will communicate regarding the situation (h/t Football.london):
“Sorry? No, I think the club have said nothing. It’s not my position to talk about the players who are not here. If the club need to communicate something they will communicate.”
The manager added names of other players who are seeking exits and he did not provide any details regarding transfers:
“The only update is going to come through the website or the club if they need to. They are our players who are training in London and when we go back they will be involved with the first team.”
Questions about Alderweireld
Pochettino was then asked about the expiry of Toby Alderweireld’s release clause, with the Belgian having just one year remaining on his contract.
The manager claimed he would not speak about the situation and that he was only looking forward to working with the players that the club provides.
The former Southampton manager also told that he will not speak about transfers from now on (h/t Football.london):
“My position from now for the future so you know, otherwise every time…I’m not going to talk about signing players, selling players, extending the contract of the players or not extending the contract of the players.”
Pochettino ended by saying that the club would update the media regarding moves and he would only speak about managing the team. He added that he won’t answer any questions regarding transfers.
Tottenham sold Vincent Janssen to Monterrey recently while we have made one big signing in Tanguy Ndombele.
