Spurs transfer news: Tottenham ready to splash £54m on Ajax’s Neres

Calciomercato (h/t Sun) claims that Tottenham are ready to spend £54million on Ajax’s David Neres.

The Brazilian was excellent for Ajax in the Champions League and Eredivisie last season.

The 22-year-old scored 8 goals and provided 8 assists in the league while he also played two games for the national side in their Copa America triumph.

David Neres can play anywhere across the front-line and is excellent with the ball at his feet. The Brazilian has also been linked with a move to Everton, according to the report.

However, Tottenham are looking to beat the Toffees to Neres’ signature and are willing to spend big on the 22-year-old (h/t Sun).

Neres would be a great fit at Tottenham

The Ajax star has the potential to develop further and Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best in working with young talents.

Neres is a creator and goal threat too, which would be handy for Tottenham. We have relied on Harry Kane for a long time to score constantly, and the English striker could do with some help in the attack.

The Brazilian can also provide cover to the likes of Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura, though he is good enough to start for Spurs out wide.
