Spurs transfer news: Tottenham could be back in the race for Correa
Calciomercato (h/t Daily Star) reports that Angel Correa’s move to AC Milan is far from complete.
The report claims that the clubs had a verbal agreement ahead of a £45m deal for the 24-year-old, however, there have been issues regarding bonuses, and Milan failed to sell Andre Silva to Monaco.
This could be good news for Tottenham, with Mauricio Pochettino still in the market for another attacker (h/t Daily Star).
Tottenham could make a move for the attacker, with Valencia also interested in the Atletico Madrid star (h/t Daily Star).
The 24-year-old wasn’t prolific last season, scoring only three goals and two assists from 36 La Liga games. The Argentine can play as the central striker or on the right-hand side of the attack.
Spurs were linked with Correa earlier in the window
The report adds that Spurs were offered Correa earlier in the window, during Kieran Trippier’s move to Atletico.
The Madrid side
Correa might find games hard to come by in a new look Atletico, and Spurs could do with a versatile attacker joining the ranks. Harry Kane needs cover after Spurs allowed Fernando Llorente to leave and sold Vincent Janssen as well.
However, £45m seems a little steep for the 24-year-old given his lack of goals last season.
