Spurs transfer news: Tottenham could move for Hysaj after Foyth’s injury

The Express (h/t Mirror) claims that Tottenham could move for Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj.

The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino is interested in bolstering the right-back spot after Juan Foyth’s injury.

The report adds that Pochettino will battle with AS Roma and Juventus for Hysaj’s signature.

The Argentine picked up the problem during the Audi Cup, and it isn’t clear how serious his ankle injury is. The youngster played as a right-back in some games last season, and Tottenham have also sold Kieran Trippier in the summer to Atletico Madrid.

The report claims that Napoli want £20m for the versatile defender who can also play as a left-back.

The Albanian has been one of the most consistent players in recent years in the Serie A and was also linked with a move to Chelsea (h/t Mirror).

Spurs need cover for the right-back spot, with Serge Aurier also troubled with injuries in the previous campaign.

Elseid Hysaj

The only other senior right-back we have on the books is Kyle Walker-Peters. The youngster got some games last season and it seems likely he will start the campaign as the first choice.

Spurs looking to close other deals too

The report adds that Tottenham are keen on landing a midfielder in the summer, with Giovani Lo Celso linked with a move.

The Argentine was excellent for Real Betis in the previous season, and we have already completed deals for Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke in the summer.
