Latest Spurs news: Pochettino promises different season after Tottenham’s signings

Mauricio Pochettino promised a different season for Tottenham after the club signed four players in the summer window.

Spurs have been unable to land players in close to 18 months but that changed with the signings of Jack Clarke, Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele.

Ryan Sessegnon

The Argentine was asked about the transfers ahead of the first game of the season, and Pochettino was extremely pleased with the players signed (h/t Football.london):

“I am very happy, I was happy with my squad and to add some more players, they can bring good energy and help us to achieve what we want.”

The manager added that he was going to do his bit with the players and had hoped that the club would be able to sign players and make the team more competition.

Pochettino also highlighted the fact that our rivals had been strengthening over the years, but claimed that the new signings would motivate our stars and would “create excitement for our fans”.

Spurs were a little unlucky losing the Champions League final in the previous campaign, but Pochettino claimed it will be a different season ahead:

“This season will be different, we start in our new stadium and we have to be ready for another exciting season and working hard to try and start tomorrow to win, which is our objective.”

New signings will boost Spurs

Three of the four players we signed should feature for us in the upcoming season, and hopefully, they can take us to another level.

Pochettino did well taking the team to the Champions League final but we need to win a trophy under the Argentine.

Ndombele and Lo Celso look should do well from the getgo while Sessegnon might take some time to get accustomed to our style.
