Spurs transfer news: Watford failed with bid for Rose on deadline day
Tottenham were busy on the last day of the transfer window signing Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon.
However, they let Josh Onomah join Fulham and rejected a bid for another first-team player.
Sky Sports claims that Watford had a bid rejected by Spurs for left-back Danny Rose.
The 29-year-old was left out of Tottenham’s Asia tour squad earlier during pre-season and was allowed to search for other opportunities in the transfer window.
The report claims that Spurs were looking at a £20m deal for Rose and had signed the left-back from Leeds for just £1m.
Rose should see some competition for the left-back spot this season with Sessegnon joining and Ben Davies also signing a new long-term deal with the club.
However, the Englishman still has time to seal a move away
Other transfer windows open
The Spanish, French, German and Italian windows don’t close till the start of September and could provide Rose
Tottenham sold Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid earlier in the window, which was a bit of a surprise with regards to his destination.

Rose can still play a huge part of our upcoming season, and it will be interesting to see how things develop with him in the coming weeks.
