Latest Spurs news: Pochettino doesn’t confirm Tottenham’s interest in Dybala
Mauricio Pochettino answered several questions in the press conference ahead of the season opener against Aston Villa.
The Argentine claimed he was happy with the transfer business done by Tottenham as we signed Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso on deadline day.
Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke were the other big names to join the club in the summer but the manager was unwilling to confirm if the club wanted Paulo Dybala.
The Argentine is still with Juventus as the Italian transfer window is still open, and Pochettino admitted Spurs were linked with several players (h/t Football.london):
“It is true that we were linked with a lot of players. Such a name like you are telling me now. These are rumours and you never know if they are true.”
The manager added that he was not going to speak about players of other clubs and praised the signings Spurs had done in the summer:
“We sign I think very good talented young players like Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele. They are still young and can improve. They are not a final product and they need to prove they can be a top player at a club like Tottenham.”
Pochettino added that all the players had the potential to improve and hoped that the club would provide them with the platform to achieve that.
Spurs look good as the season gets underway
The first game of the season was against Aston Villa and we found our way to get three points. Spurs haven’t lost too many first-team players in the summer, with only the right-back spot being a concern.
Kieran Trippier left the club to join Atletico Madrid and we are without Juan Foyth as he is out injured.

Lo Celso and Ndombele seem to be great signings and it will be interesting to see where Sessegnon plays this season.
