Spurs transfer news: Tottenham could move for Dybala in January

Paulo Dybala is still a Juventus player despite links with a move away from the club.

Football.london reports that Tottenham were close to landing the Juventus star in the summer, with a deal agreed between the two clubs and the player.

However, a problem arose with the 25-year-old’s image rights and the deal fell through, according to the report.

Paulo Dybala

The Argentine is one of the best in the Serie A but struggled after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. Dybala only scored five goals in the league last season, and there could be a move from Spurs in the January window (h/t Football.london).

Journalist Duncan Castles claimed that should Dybala remain with Juventus and should he not receive adequate playing time, he could be on the move in the winter window (h/t Football.london).

Spurs need to be smart with their business

The current Spurs side seems well-balanced, although we are light on first-team right-backs at the moment.

Giovani Lo Celso should add more quality to our attack and provide Pochettino with more options to mix the side up. Ryan Sessegnon should also feature for us soon after joining on the last day of the transfer window.

Dybala could be a great signing for the attack, but spending huge on a foreign player is always a risk.

The Argentine would need to acclimatise to the Premier League and this competition is not as physical as the Serie A.

Spurs also have Christian Eriksen on their books, who plays in an advanced position, and the Dane was the catalyst in our comeback win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
