Spurs transfer news: Tottenham set to lose out in race for Olmo

Tottenham are set to lose out on Spanish U21 attacker Dani Olmo, according to reports from Spain (h/t Mirror).

The Dinamo Zagreb star helped the Spaniards win the U21 Euros in the summer and was named in the team of the tournament.

The former Barcelona youngster has grown since his move to Zagreb and was linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham (h/t Mirror).

However, AS (h/t Mirror) claims that the 21-year-old is being tracked by Atletico Madrid, and the club have spoken with the player’s agent.

The European transfer window is open until 2nd September while Premier League clubs cannot sign players from other clubs until January.

A bit of a risky signing

The youngster is one of the brightest talents in the Spanish side and it will be interesting to see where he ends up in the summer.

Signing Olmo would be a little risky given that he hasn’t played at the top level for several years, but his international performances have been great.

Joao Felix

Atletico have already signed a quality young attacker in Joao Felix after losing Antoine Griezmann, but the surprise signing for the La Liga giants has to be that of Kieran Trippier.
