Spurs transfer news: Wanyama’s deal held up due to Champions League ties
Victor Wanyama could be the next Tottenham star set for a summer exit from the club.
The Kenyan has struggled for fitness and games under Mauricio Pochettino for the past two seasons, and Football.london claims that a deal with Club Brugge could be completed.
The report adds that Wanyama has to
Wanyama earns £65,000-a-week at Tottenham and the move will be kept on hold until later in the month (h/t Football.london).
The Belgians face LASK in a Champions League qualifier next week, and winning that tie would provide an additional £20m to their transfer kitty, according to the report.
Club Brugge would also feature in the group stages of the Champions League if they win.
Wanyama’s injuries affected his time with Spurs
The 28-year-old was excellent after making the switch from Southampton, but persistent knee problems have reduced his playing time under Pochettino.
The manager now has Moussa Sissoko doing a great job in the midfield and the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele will further reduce the chances of Wanyama getting a start.
Harry Winks and Eric Dier are also fighting for the midfield spots, which puts Wanyama way down the pecking order.

The Kenyan has the experience of playing in Belgium and hopefully, he gets to play regularly for his new team.
