Latest Spurs news: Alli to be assessed before Newcastle game
The Evening Standard claims that Dele Alli faces a late fitness test to check if he is ready to face Newcastle United at the weekend.
The English midfielder has a hamstring issue and hasn’t featured in the two Premier League games we have played so far.
The 23-year-old struggled with injuries last season too, and that seemed to affect his output as he recorded just 5 goals in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino is unwilling to risk the Englishman, with Alli suffering several hamstring probes over the past two seasons (h/t Evening Standard).
Alli needs to have a good season
The 23-year-old was excellent for Spurs a couple of years ago but a long summer and injuries certainly affected his form last campaign.
