Spurs transfer news: Milan could move for Aurier once they sell Conti

Calciomercato claims that Tottenham’s Serge Aurier has been linked with a move to AC Milan for the past two weeks.

The Ivorian defender hasn’t started any of our Premier League games this season, with Kyle Walker-Peters getting the nod in both the games.

The 26-year-old has also struggled with injuries since his move from Paris Saint-Germain, and the report claims that the Ivorian isn’t a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

Le10 Sport (h/t Calciomercato) adds that a move to Milan could be on but the Italians need to sell Andrea Conti. The defender is being linked with Werder Bremen and Serie A rivals Parma, according to the report.

Conti has struggled for regular starts at the San Siro and made 12 appearances in the Serie A last term.

Pochettino taking a risk with this move

Tottenham have already sold Kieran Trippier in the summer and that leaves us with only Walker-Peters and Aurier as the recognised senior right-backs.

Aurier leaving would reduce our options in the position but Juan Foyth has some experience of playing as a right-back.

Letting Aurier go is a major risk being taken by Pochettino, and Spurs have been active in offloading deadwood in the summer.

Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou departed permanently, and it will be interesting to see if Aurier follows them before the close of the transfer window.
