Spurs transfer news: Eriksen expected to stay at Tottenham after failing to land bids
The Daily Mail reports that Christian Eriksen is set to remain at Tottenham as a dream Spanish move won’t take place this summer.
The Dane is out of a contract at the end of the season but the report claims that he wants to join either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
However, neither of the Spanish giants have made any serious moves for the 27-year-old and are unlikely to do so before the end of the European transfer window (h/t Daily Mail).
This means that Eriksen would remain at the club until the January window, however, he could leave for free at the end of the campaign.
Eriksen won’t sign a new deal with Spurs
The report claims that Tottenham have offered Eriksen a new contract worth £200,000 per week, which would make him the second-highest-paid player at the club, but the Dane isn’t interested in signing it.
The Dane wants a new challenge and his representatives have suggested that he isn’t interested in holding further talks regarding a new deal with the club (h/t Daily Mail).
This situation with Eriksen seems to be hurting the team and the Dane has only started one game in the Premier League so far.
He did come off the bench against Newcastle, but could not help us avoid a shock loss against the Magpies.
