Latest Spurs news: Tottenham train hard ahead of North London derby against Arsenal

Tottenham have to return to winning ways on Sunday if they dream of bettering Liverpool or Manchester City.

Our last game was a poor 1-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United, and our next clash is against bitter rivals Arsenal.

There have been some problems with the attack in the past two games and Harry Kane looked a little out of touch against the Magpies.

However, the Englishman loves playing against the Gunners and was seen putting in a lot of effort in training.

Christian Eriksen didn’t start for us against Newcastle but the Dane should be in the XI to face the Gunners if he remains a Spurs player by then.

The European transfer window is still open and Eriksen could leave given that he is in the final year of his contract.

Giovani Lo Celso could also feature at some point in the game, but it would be a huge gamble by Mauricio Pochettino to start him in the North London derby.

Good news on the injury front

Dele Alli was pictured in training and he could play for us after failing to make an appearance due to a hamstring injury.

The Englishman could be the X-factor we have missed this season, and we might even see Eric Dier play but not in the midfield.

Spurs don’t have many right-back options, with Kyle Walker-Peters picking up an injury against Newcastle and Juan Foyth out until September.

Serge Aurier could get a game on Sunday, and it will be interesting to see how we line up at the Emirates.

Jan Vertonghen is another player who could be in the starting XI on Sunday, with the Belgian not starting any of our games this season.

Arsenal will be tricky opposition but we should be able to pierce their defence and come out with the three points if we play to our best.
