Spurs transfer news: Tottenham unsure about Eriksen’s future as relationship between parties breaks down
The Guardian (h/t Sun) reports that Tottenham are unsure about Christian Eriksen’s future as the relationship between the player’s agent and Daniel Levy has broken down.
The midfielder is a free agent at the end of the season and the report claims that it is likely Eriksen will leave for nothing next summer.
Tottenham want to keep hold of the 27-year-old but Eriksen rejected an offer of £200,000-a-week and hasn’t shown any interest in staying with the club (h/t Sun).
The report adds that Levy is not speaking with Martin Schoots, Eriksen’s agent, for some time and that has increased the possibility of the Dane’s departure.
The European transfer window ends on 2nd September and Tottenham would not be able to sign a replacement before January.
Pochettino frustrated with the situation
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino is frustrated with the situation Tottenham, and the Eriksen situation is one of his biggest problems.
Tottenham could see a late bid come in for Eriksen with just a few days of the transfer window open but aren’t sure of what Eriksen’s agent is planning given the breakdown in communication (h/t Sun).
This problem should have been sorted out before our first game of the season and it is a reflection of our poor transfer dealings over the years.

Eriksen had openly stated that he wanted a new challenge after our Champions League final defeat, and we still have not been able to find a solution that would leave all parties satisfied.
