Latest Spurs news: No truth in rumours of Pochettino leaving after Arsenal clash

Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Tottenham has come under scrutiny after the Champions League draw.

Football.london reports that there has been speculation that the Argentine would leave Spurs after the North London derby against Arsenal, irrespective of the result.

Tottenham haven’t had a great start to the season after their 1-0 shock defeat at the hands of Newcastle but we have been handed a relatively straightforward group in the Champions League.

There have also been issues regarding some of our stars, such as Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose, being linked with moves away (h/t Football.london).

Poch not going anywhere

However, the report claims that there is no truth to the rumours of the Argentine leaving the club and all he wants is the transfer window to end.

The European window closes on 2nd September and Spurs will then have a settled side for Pochettino to work with.

The window being open is a bit of a distraction, and hopefully, we get to keep all our best players.

Eriksen, Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are free agents at the end of the campaign, and it would be great if we could keep the trio and get them to sign new deals.

Pochettino is yet to see the best of Giovani Lo Celso, one of our summer signings. The Argentine is slowly being brought into the team while another new boy, Ryan Sessegnon is yet to feature as he recovers from an injury.

Tanguy Ndombele also has a slight knock and it will be interesting to see when he returns to action after a great debut against Aston Villa.
