Spurs transfer news: Fernandes agrees on exit from Sporting in 2020
Bruno Fernandes was one of the biggest names being linked with a transfer this summer.
The Portugal international had a great season with Sporting Lisbon and the national side.
Fernandes also played a huge role in the national team lifting the Nations League during the summer and was linked heavily with Tottenham (h/t Football.london).
The 24-year-old scored more than 30 goals for Sporting and could have been a great signing for Spurs. However, no deal was done for the midfielder.
However, Record (h/t Football.london) claims that Fernandes and Sporting have come to an agreement, which allows him to leave in 2020.
The report adds that no particular club has been named as Fernandes’ future destination, and more than one team is interested in the services of the 24-year-old.
Tottenham to move in the winter window?
Spurs could do with more attacking talent in the team and Christian Eriksen is a free agent at the end of this season. We could lose him for nothing, and signing a replacement in the January window would be a smart move.
Fernandes would have half a season to acclimatise to the Premier League and he would be up to the mark next season. Lucas Moura is a perfect example of a player taking time to adjust to the Premier League after joining in January.
