Spurs transfer news: Wanyama unsure about joining Club Brugge

The Daily Mail reports that Victor Wanyama’s move to Club Brugge could be off as he doesn’t want to make the wrong move with the transfer window closing on Monday.

The Kenyan has fallen down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino and his injury record hasn’t been great either.

The former Southampton star is yet to play for us this season, and the report claims that a £13m deal for the midfielder was finalised between Spurs and Club Brugge.

However, Wanyama would have to take a pay-cut to complete the deal, and us being offered a four-year contract by the Belgian side (h/t Daily Mail).

The Belgians made it to the group stage of the Champions League, which should be an added attraction to Wanyama.

Loads of interest in Wanyama

The midfielder has attracted interest from Valencia, Bologna, Celtic and Monaco, however, the clubs prefer to sign Wanyama on loan, according to the report.

Tottenham don’t have a lot of time to finalise deals and it will be interesting to see how things develop with the Kenyan over the next 24 hours.

The Kenyan won’t feature much under Pochettino this season thanks to the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele.

Spurs also have several other midfielders on their books and should see more minutes from Oliver Skipp too this season.
