Spurs transfer news: Wanyama could be rejoining Celtic

The Daily Record claims that Tottenham are willing to listen to loan offers for midfielder Victor Wanyama.

The 28-year-old was linked with a £13million move to Club Brugge, but the report claims that this deal is unlikely to take place.

The Daily Record adds that Celtic manager Neil Lennon has worked with Wanyama earlier and made the Kenyan one of his priority signings in the summer.

The Scottish giants aren’t interested in spending money to sign Wanyama and will try to land him on a loan deal (h/t Daily Record).

There are more complications to the deal too, with the report claiming that Celtic would require Tottenham to pay a part of the midfielder’s wages.

Tottenham want a permanent exit of the midfielder

Wanyama could struggle to get games this season under Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs have several options in the midfield and have spent big to land Tanguy Ndombele.

Oliver Skipp should also get some minutes this season while we have Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks for the midfield positions.

The report claims that Celtic’s move is still a “long shot” as Tottenham prefer a permanent exit of the Kenyan.

Spurs have sold several players this summer as they try to get rid of the deadwood, and it makes sense to sell Wanyama.

The Kenyan is a quality player to have on the books, but his injury record hasn’t been good in recent years.
