Spurs transfer news: Ceballos went to Arsenal and not Tottenham because of Perez
The Daily Mail (h/t Express) reports that Arsenal
The Real Madrid star has done well since joining the Gunners on loan and the report claims that Spurs were interested in signing the Spaniard.
Tottenham ended up signing Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis and also bought Tanguy Ndombele on a club
The report adds that Spurs wanted to sign Ceballos on a permanent deal but Perez only wanted the Spaniard to leave for a season.
Arsenal got hold of the talented youngster ahead of Spurs, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top once the season ends.
Spurs yet to see the best of Lo Celso
The Argentine was excellent for Betis last season and broke into the national side for the Copa America tournament.
However, Spurs haven’t seen him play too many minutes as he is slowly being bedded into the team.
Lo Celso has a penchant to score goals while Ceballos normally plays in a deeper role.
The Spaniard has started the season better than Lo Celso but Mauricio Pochettino is the perfect manager for a young player to develop further.
Tottenham needed another quality attacking midfielder and it didn’t make sense to sign a player only to lose him a year later.

Lo Celso is also here on a loan but Spurs have the option to make the deal permanent in the next summer (h/t Marca).
