Latest Spurs news: Llorente shares emotional message for Tottenham fans after leaving club
Fernando Llorente left Tottenham once his contract ended in the summer and there were rumours of us trying to sign the Spaniard back for the upcoming campaign (h/t Evening Standard).
However, the former Juventus and Athletic Bilbao striker is returning to the Serie A and will play for Napoli.
This move has left us with no actual cover for Harry Kane, but the Spaniard had a great message for the Tottenham fans as he left with some fantastic memories.
Llorente helped us reach the Champions League final
The striker didn’t start too many games for us since joining from Swansea but he played a huge role in our Champions League journey last season.
His goal against Manchester City will forever be etched in our memories and then he came off the bench to turn around the semi-final against Ajax.
The forward wasn’t the quickest player on the pitch but he always put in a shift. The Spaniard also provided us with a target to hit whenever we needed to turn things around during a game.
Llorente should do well in the Serie A, which is a less intense league than the Premier League.
Napoli have a great squad and it will be interesting to see how Llorente does under Carlo Ancelotti.
