Latest Spurs news: Tottenham release third kit for 2019-20 season
Tottenham have finally released their third kit for the season with most of our rivals having revealed their kits a while back.
The third kit features a light blue theme with a release from the club suggesting that they had tried to pay tribute to Spurs’ heritage (h/t Tottenhamhotspur.com):
“Our 2019/20 third kit pays tribute to the Club’s heritage by bringing back the famous light blue shade synonymous with iconic players who helped carve the way for the Club’s future success.”
The release added that the blue kit would be sported when our European campaign begins, and Spurs wore a similar colour in the 1984 UEFA Cup final’s first leg.
The jersey features a dark blue trim on the sleeves and a buttoned collar, and also contains a “‘Spurs’ graphic running across it, thanks to a matte/shine jacquard.”
The Nike logo is the ‘Futura’ version as it provides a 90s feel to the kit.
Fans love Spurs’ third kit
Although the home and away kits kept things safe by going with traditional colours, this return to the light blue seems to have hit a mark with the fans.
Tottenham have always had a light blue version of the kit and it is great that we are going back to this colour for the season ahead.
Harry Kane also had some thoughts regarding the kit and hoped they would to do well like the ones who wore the colour in the past:
“When you see the light blue you think of those players who paved the way, and I hope this year we can wear it with pride to go all the way.”
It will be interesting to see how our European campaign goes when we suit up with our third kit, but many fans had already fallen for the shirts and here are some of the reactions on Twitter.
