Spurs transfer news: Manchester United to return for Eriksen in January
Tottenham
The 27-year-old is a free agent at the end of the season as he hasn’t signed a new deal with the club yet.
The report claims that the Red Devils will reignite a move for the Dane in January after failing to sign him for £70million in the summer.
The Premier League side had held talks with the Dane but backed out of the deal as Eriksen preferred a move to Spain (h/t Sun).
The report adds that United could land him for a fee lower than the £70m should Eriksen continue to run down his contract at Tottenham.
More transfer woes for Spurs?
Keeping hold of Eriksen was great for the club, but these exit talks will keep rumbling on.
The Dane is one of the best in the league and losing him for nothing at the end of the season would be a transfer disaster.
Similarly, letting him join a Premier League rival would be a horrible outcome of the entire saga.
Getting Eriksen to sign a new deal would be great but the Dane has spoken about taking up a new challenge in recent months.

The Dane highlighted his importance to the team by scoring the opener in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal, and it will be an interesting few months for Eriksen as the next transfer window comes calling.
