Latest Spurs news: Sessegnon could start full training during international break

Football.london’s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold took part in another Q+A session as the players headed off into the international break.

Spurs haven’t been at their best this season and it will be important for our stars to return without any injury problems.

Ryan Sessegnon

Summer signing Ryan Sessegnon is yet to play for the side after picking up an injury for the England U21s.

The youngster could be the solution to our left-back issues, and Gold provided an encouraging update on the exciting 19-year-old (h/t Football.london):

“Sessegnon is now in the final stages of his conditioning training and is expected to start to join in with full training at some point during this international break.”

Gold added that the English youngster could still need more time to become an option for Mauricio Pochettino:

“It could still take a couple of weeks for him, working with Pochettino, before we see much of him, but he could still be a good option for the bench this month if the manager wants a bit of pace for late in matches.”

Spurs need some freshness in the team

Tottenham haven’t seen a lot of action from their summer signings as Tanguy Ndombele also picked up an injury recently.

Giovani Lo Celso is yet to make a start since his move from Real Betis, and it would be great if we could call upon Sessegnon soon.

All the three players are dynamic and can add some extra sparkle into the Spurs team. Ndombele had been great in the wins over Aston Villa and the draw with Manchester City.

However, the team looked flat in the defeat to Newcastle and we had to hold tight in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Sessegnon could replace Danny Rose in the starting XI, and the youngster is capable of playing as a winger too.
