Danny Rose claims all the details regarding summer exit rumours were not true
Tottenham left-back Danny Rose was allowed to search for a new club in the summer, only to remain with Spurs as the transfer window closed.
The English defender did not travel with the side for the Asia tour as he tried to seal a move away, but things haven’t been all bad for the 29-year-old.
Rose has started all our Premier League games this season and even featured for England in their win over Bulgaria recently.
However, the Englishman isn’t content with all that was said in the summer and claimed that he didn’t want to focus on the negative aspects (h/t Sky Sports):
“It wasn’t tough, it is what it is.
“Not everything that was publicised in the summer was entirely true and I think in the future I will have my say on everything that happened but I don’t want to focus on negativity at the minute.”
The Englishman added that he should be happy with how the season had gone so far but wanted to highlight that not everything said about him during the summer was true:
“I guess I should be happy with maybe being up for sale and having started the first four games for Tottenham and the first England game of the campaign.
“I can’t lie I am very happy, but I just want to say that everything that was written in the summer wasn’t entirely true.”
Pochettino backs Rose
Rose believes that Mauricio Pochettino trusts him and highlighted his starts in the Champions League knockout rounds as proof of that.
The 29-year-old added that he didn’t have to prove anything to anyone and was happy that his club and national team managers believe in him.
Rose has been given the nod despite Ben Davies signing a new deal in the summer and Ryan Sessegnon arriving at the club.

Sessegnon has been injured for most of the season, and it will be interesting to see if Rose is replaced in the starting XI once the former Fulham star regains fitness.
