Tottenham scout Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi during international break
Turkish outlet Sabah (h/t Football.london) reports that Tottenham sent scouts to watch Vedat Muriqi during the international break.
The 25-year-old Kosovo forward played in the 2-1 win over the Czech Republic this weekend.
The report claims that Spurs are keeping an eye on the forward’s progress with Fenerbahce, and are interested in increasing their options in the attack.
Muriqi scored 17 goals in 34 games in the Turkish league for Rizespor last season and has done a decent job this campaign with two goals from three games for Fenerbahce.
The 25-year-old is great in the air and could provide us with a different dimension in the attack. That job was Fernando Llorente’s last season but the Spaniard left the club on a free after his contract ended with Tottenham.
Tottenham need another forward
Spurs have Troy Parrott in the ranks and the Irish youngster could play some games for us this season. But Muriqi is an experienced forward and might do a decent job at Tottenham.
The 25-year-old is a surprising name being linked with Spurs given that we have moved for younger players in this transfer window.
All our summer signings are below 23, with Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon still in their teens.
It will be interesting to see if there is further interest in the Kosovo international as the months go by.
