Giovani Lo Celso ruled out till October with hip injury
Tottenham have been dealt a major blow as Giovani Lo Celso is expected to be out of action till October.
A club release (h/t Evening Standard) claimed the Argentine picked up the problem during the recent international break and will return to training at the end of October:
“The attacking midfielder sustained the injury during his national team’s match against Chile. He will now undergo a period of rehabilitation and is expected to return to training with the first team towards the end of October.”
The Argentine picked up the problem in the 0-0 friendly draw with Chile and the Evening Standard reports that Lo Celso returned to Spurs early.
The 23-year-old joined Spurs from Real Betis on the transfer deadline day and has gotten minutes from the bench.
The youngster hasn’t picked up a start under Mauricio Pochettino and this is another headache for the manager.
Lo Celso to miss some big games
The 23-year-old will miss the Champions League clashes against Olympiakos and Bayern Munich after the international break and he could be out for a couple of big clashes too.
Should Lo Celso return to training at the end of October, he will miss the trip to Liverpool and possibly the clash against Everton at Goodison.
